Role Overview:
• Lead Practitioner position in the Endoscopy department
• Responsible for leading a clinical team and ensuring quality care across the endoscopy patient pathway
Endoscopy Lead Practitioner Criteria:
• Experience in leading a clinical team
• Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC registration
• Basic and advanced Competence / qualification in Endoscopy Care and Decontamination
• Operators Course in Endoscopy Decontamination
• Teaching / Assessing / mentorship qualifications
• Knowledge of relevant standards and external bodies (Care Quality Commission, GRS, JAG, HTM 01 -06)
• ILS certification
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence
• Proficiency in PC usage and software
Endoscopy Lead Practitioner Duties:
• Provide quality planned care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures
• Assist in the management and organization of care provision within the endoscopy unit
• Participate in improving Essential Quality Requirements and Best Practice standards
• Develop and enhance skills and knowledge
• Apply legislation, policies, and procedures correctly
• Respect patient dignity, privacy, wishes, and beliefs
• Participate in departmental communication, policy development, and continuous quality improvement
