We are seeking a First Contact Practitioner (FCP) to join our client's Physiotherapy team. This full-time role requires flexibility to cover a varied shift pattern.
First Contact Practitioner - Key Responsibilities:
- Work as an FCP within the MSK service alongside clinicians like APPs, GPs, podiatrists, and physiotherapists.
- Conduct highly specialized neuro-musculoskeletal assessments in a GP setting.
- Formulate accurate diagnoses, management plans, and prognoses using advanced clinical reasoning.
- Independently refer patients for diagnostic procedures such as MRI, USS, X-Ray, and NCS.
- Administer joint and soft tissue injections (or work towards this skill).
- Communicate effectively with patients and medical colleagues regarding assessments and treatments.
- Contribute to ongoing development within the MSK team and follow/develop clinical pathways.
- Triage MSK referrals and refer patients to appropriate care providers.
- Maintain high standards of physiotherapy practice per CSP Codes of Practice'.
First Contact Practitioner - Candidate Requirements
- 6 years post-graduate experience with a minimum of 3 years in MSK.
- Member of HCPC and CSP.
- Degree in Physiotherapy, MSc preferred.
- Experience with audit and implementing changes.
- Qualified in injection therapy.
- Knowledge of current orthopaedic and MSK practices and research.
- Ability to work independently with advanced decision-making skills.
- Excellent knowledge of neuro-musculoskeletal conditions.
- Clinical supervision skills and IRMER training.
- Experience in ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests.
