Head Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon - Uppingham - up to £85,000 - Independent Practice

We are an expanding, privately owned independent small animal practice seeking an experienced and ambitious Head Small Animal Vet to manage and oversee the clinical caseload and business operations at our Uppingham practice. This is a unique opportunity for someone looking to combine high-level clinical work with leadership responsibilities, playing a vital role in driving our growth and service expansion.

Key Responsibilities
As the Head Vet, you will:

  • Lead and support the clinical team in delivering exceptional, bespoke, and affordable care.
  • Oversee the day-to-day business operations, ensuring smooth workflow and patient care.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to graduates and junior vets.
  • Help support our transition as the practice expands its services following our new RCVS hospital status.
  • Assist in case discussions, participate in clinical meetings, and support CPD efforts.
  • Work closely with our administrative team (HR, H&S, and finance) to manage non-clinical duties.
  • Play a key role in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, with built-in admin time and a flexible diary.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Circa £65,000 - £85,000
  • Work Schedule: 4-day workweek with time allocated for administration
