Registered Veterinary Nurse

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Nurse to join our friendly and supportive practice in Darlington. This role is ideal for someone looking to take on sole nursing responsibilities in a busy and varied environment. As a key member of our team, you’ll work closely with vets and other staff to provide high-quality patient care, manage theatre duties, consult with clients, and assist with reception duties.
You’ll be on a rota that includes a mix of hospital, theatre, and consults, so a flexible and adaptable approach is essential. Operations are typically performed in the mornings until 1 pm, with the practice closed between 1 pm and 2 pm for lunch. The working pattern also includes 1 in 6 weekends and 1 night a week on call (5 pm - 10 pm), where you will sleep at the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Theatre Nursing: Assisting in surgeries and monitoring patients during and after procedures.
- Consultations: Conducting nurse consultations between 9 am - 6 pm or 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.
- Reception Duties: Supporting the front desk team with client communication and administrative tasks.
- Sole Nursing: Managing the practice during shifts, ensuring all clinical and administrative tasks are completed.
- On Call: Providing emergency support
