Pharmacy Lead - SACT

Key Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or BPharm) or BSc in Pharmacy
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a UK hospital pharmacy setting
  • Proven team management, mentoring, and budget management skills
  • Strong organizational, planning, and risk management abilities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of GPhC Codes of Conduct, Care Standards Act, and CQC Requirements

Pharmacy Lead - SACT Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the safe and optimal use of medications for SACT patients
  • Ensure all prescribing activities use the hospital's electronic software
  • Timely initiation of new protocols
  • Advocate evidence-based medicine and best practices in oncology
  • Provide expert advice on medication management and prescribing
  • Inspire and motivate the pharmacy team in the oncology unit
  • Participate in the hospital's multidisciplinary oncology team
  • Develop and implement prescribing guidelines and oncology policies
  • Educate staff and patients on prescribed medications and their administration
