Position- Lead Nurse (Mental Health Nurse)
Location- Burgess Hill, West Sussex
Salary - up to £52,000 per annum
Hours- 37.5 (Days with alternative weekends)
Qualifications- RMN or RNLD only

Job Setting
We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Lead Nurse to join our team. You will work in the either the adult acute unit, PICU or low secure unit dependant on the services needs. This is a service catering mainly to adult private patients and also adult OCD patients referred through the NHS.

This unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to gain experience in a multitude of specialist areas working in Adults Acute, Addictions and specialist OCD fields. This will allow you to expand your knowledge and skill set very quickly giving you an outstanding platform for your career.

The Successful applicant will be able to demonstrate their skills and experiences in engaging with patients, effectively managing risk and promoting patient involvement in their care and treatment.

You will want to work in a therapeutic environment that supports the patients move towards a safe, more independent future and be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills.

You will work with a large multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, other registered mental health nurses, healthcare assistants, teaching staff, therapists (including DBT and CBT therapists, a clinical psychologist, a child psychotherapist and an occupational therapist). You will be involved in the assessment, planning and implementation of patient care. You will also be expected to attend daily multidisciplinary handover meetings, ward rounds and CPA meetings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Providing high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care plans.
  • Administering medication and treatments prescribed by doctors and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive holistic care.
  • Maintaining accurate records of patient care, including progress notes and medical histories.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to patient care.

Lead Nurse Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurses (RMN or RNLD) on a relevant part of the NMC register, with specialist training in a relevant clinical skill such as DBT/CBT
  • At least 3 years' experience working within multidisciplinary teams within relevant clinical settings
  • A clinical leader who is confident working across organisational boundaries, and is experienced in leading on service development projects
  • An exceptional communicator who tailors your approach according to individual strengths and needs, and is adept at working with colleagues across different disciplines, and seniority and skill levels
