Position: Day Surgery Unit Nurse Location: Bath Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum (including £3000 Bonus) - Full-Time -Private Hospital

As a Day Surgery Unit Nurse, you will take on a pivotal role in clinical triage, patient care evaluation, conducting nurse-led clinics, performing examinations and tests, organizing treatments, and facilitating referrals to other healthcare professionals.

As a Day Surgery Unit Nurse, your role will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, including:
Providing top-notch nursing care across various care settings.
• Ensuring the preparation and sterilization of clinic rooms, instruments, and equipment.
• Maintaining accurate and timely patient records.
• Mentoring and documenting the progress of students, learners, junior nurses, and Health Care Assistants.
• Engaging in teaching activities within your area of expertise.
• Prioritizing and managing tasks as directed by the Lead Nurse or unit nursing lead.
• Maintaining clear and effective communication channels.
• Acting as a specialist/link person following relevant training in your area of expertise.
• Developing patient pathways to ensure both physical and psychological preparedness for procedures.
• Offering patients detailed information about planned procedures and obtaining their consent.
• Delivering patient care based on established research and evidence-based clinical practices.
• Undertaking other reasonable duties as required.
• Applying a holistic, patient-centered care approach tailored to individual clinical needs.
• Adapting to flexible rosters to meet patient needs efficiently.

Essential qualifications and qualities for the Day Surgery Unit Nurse role:
• Establish annual personal objectives and create a development plan.
• Collaborate with the Lead Nurse to address training and development needs.
• Stay updated through clinical supervision models.
• Comply with NMC Code of Professional Conduct and registration requirements if applicable.
• Enhance clinical knowledge and professional skills through relevant training.
• Desired: Experience in a similar role.
• Desired: Demonstrable record of CPD (Continuous Professional Development).
• Desired: Knowledge of standards of professional practice in the broader healthcare context.
