💰 Salary: Up to £62,700 per annum DOE + Bonus

🕒 Full-Time | Permanent

We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a specialist solo children’s home in Stoke-on-Trent, supporting a young person with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader who is passionate about creating a safe, stable and nurturing home environment and wants to make a genuine difference to the life of a young person.

The Role As Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and management of the home, ensuring excellent standards of care, safeguarding and Ofsted compliance.
You will lead and develop the staff team while remaining visible and hands-on within the home, creating a warm, consistent and family-style environment where the young person can feel safe and supported.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for the day-to-day running of the children's home.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the residential care team.
  • Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding, care planning, recording and compliance.
  • Support the young person with their emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
  • Promote a trauma-informed and therapeutic approach to care.
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels, supervisions and staff development.
  • Build effective relationships with social workers, local authorities, families and other professionals.
  • Monitor and review care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
  • Lead on quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Support the home through Ofsted inspections and ensure it remains inspection-ready.
About You We are looking for an experienced children's residential professional who combines strong leadership with a genuinely nurturing approach.

You will ideally have:
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children's residential setting.
  • At least 2 years' relevant residential childcare experience.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it.
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and children's residential legislation.
  • Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, trauma, attachment difficulties and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A calm, resilient and compassionate approach.
  • Full UK driving licence.
We would also welcome applications from strong Deputy Managers who have the experience and leadership capability to step up into a Registered Manager position.
