Registered Children’s Home Manager – Liverpool Area
Salary: £55,000 – £65,000 per annum
Full-time | Permanent | In-person
We are proud to be working alongside a well-established provider of children's residential care who are looking to appoint an experienced Registered Children’s Home Manager to oversee an established home in the Liverpool area.
The home provides care for children and young people aged 7–18 and has a strong regulatory foundation, having received a Good rating in all areas at its most recent Ofsted inspection.
This is an opportunity for an experienced manager to take responsibility for the continued effective running and development of an established service, with support from an experienced senior management team.
About the role
The Registered Manager will have overall responsibility for the management and quality of the home, ensuring that children receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.
The role will include:
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in children's residential care and a sound understanding of the requirements involved in managing an Ofsted-registered children's home.
Experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager would be advantageous, particularly for candidates with a demonstrable history of effective regulatory compliance.

Above all, the successful candidate will have a genuine commitment to children's residential care and the ability to provide clear, consistent leadership to both the staff team and the service.
The Opportunity
The home is already established and has achieved a Good rating in all areas at its latest Ofsted inspection, providing the incoming manager with a solid platform from which to continue developing the service.
The successful candidate will have the support of the Responsible Individual and wider senior management team, while having clear responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and performance of the home.
There may also be an opportunity, for the right individual, to take responsibility for a second home through dual registration, subject to Ofsted approval. This is not an essential requirement of the position.

The role will include:
- Leading and managing the home's residential childcare team.
- Ensuring the service operates in accordance with relevant legislation, regulations, Quality Standards and Ofsted requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Ensuring care plans, risk assessments and other key documentation are accurate, current and effectively implemented.
- Providing regular supervision, guidance and performance management to staff.
- Supporting the recruitment, induction and ongoing development of the team.
- Monitoring the quality of care and identifying areas where practice can be strengthened.
- Maintaining effective records and ensuring the home is prepared for regulatory monitoring and inspection.
- Working effectively with social workers, families, education professionals and other agencies involved in children's care.
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of the service.
- Working closely with the Responsible Individual and senior management to maintain effective oversight of the home.
The successful candidate will have substantial experience in children's residential care and a sound understanding of the requirements involved in managing an Ofsted-registered children's home.
Experience as an Ofsted Registered Manager would be advantageous, particularly for candidates with a demonstrable history of effective regulatory compliance.
Applicants should have:
- Significant experience within children's residential services.
- Previous experience within an EBD residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- A good understanding of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Experience of leading and developing residential childcare staff.
- The ability to manage performance and maintain professional standards.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Experience of working with external professionals and agencies.
- A clear understanding of the importance of stable, consistent and child-centred care.
