Residential Children's Worker - Up to £37,800 - Based in Stoke-on-Trent - Full Time - 2:4 shift system with sleep-ins

I’m delighted to be supporting this fantastic and Well Established Children’s Home, who are a well-respected and independent social care organisation, in their search for a passionate Residential Children's Worker. This Children’s Home have been established since 2006 and are recognised for the exceptional care they provide to children and young people across their residential and supported living services. Their commitment to quality is reflected in the fact that 50% of their Residential Homes are rated Outstanding by Ofsted.
Residential Children's Worker Role  
  • Build positive, respectful relationships with children and young people.
  • Support care plans, development goals, and emotional well-being.
  • Promote safeguarding, routines, and behavioural boundaries.
  • Engage young people in education, recreation, and daily life skills.
  • Act as a key worker and lead shifts where appropriate.
  • Maintain records and liaise with families and external professionals.
  • Salary Subject to Experience/Qualifications - overtime available
Residential Children's Worker Role Overview
Essential:
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues.
  • Resilience, adaptability, and calmness under pressure.
  • Inclusive, rights-based approach to care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (or willing to learn).
  • Positive role model with integrity and professionalism.
  • Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and sleep-ins.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Commitment to ongoing development.
Desirable:
  • Experience working with children or vulnerable people.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of child development, trauma, and safeguarding.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks
Essential Criteria
  • Ability to maintain and develop positive relationships with children, professionals and colleagues
  • Ability to act as a positive role model demonstrating honesty and integrity
  • Ability to work shifts including weekend and sleep ins
  • Commitment to complete a Level 3 in Residential Childcare
