About the Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to join a well-established children's residential provider and lead a 3-bed EBD children's home in Romford, which currently holds a Good Ofsted rating.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced children's residential professional who is looking to take responsibility for an established service and continue building on the strong standards already in place.
The successful candidate will provide visible leadership to the staff team, ensuring young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care while maintaining strong regulatory and safeguarding standards.

The successful candidate will provide visible leadership to the staff team, ensuring young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care while maintaining strong regulatory and safeguarding standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the effective day-to-day running of the children's home.
- Lead, motivate and develop the residential care team.
- Maintain the home's Good Ofsted rating and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure the home operates in line with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Ofsted requirements.
- Maintain excellent safeguarding and child protection standards.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments, behaviour support and daily recording.
- Support staff through supervision, training, development and performance management.
- Build strong relationships with social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
- Monitor the quality of care and ensure the home remains inspection-ready.
- Lead audits, quality assurance and service improvement activity.
- Promote a positive, child-centred and nurturing environment.
You will need:
- At least 2 years' residential managerial experience, gained as a Deputy Manager and/or Registered Manager.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare – completed or currently working towards.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD and challenging behaviours.
- Proven experience leading and developing staff teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A calm, resilient and consistent approach.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and make confident decisions.
- Salary up to £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
