About the Role We are currently recruiting for a Deputy Manager to join a well-established 3-bedroom children’s residential home in Erdington, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager looking to take the next step in their career within children's residential care.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the home, supporting the staff team and ensuring young people receive safe, consistent and high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home.
- Lead and support the residential care team.
- Promote high standards of safeguarding and child-centred care.
- Support staff with their development, supervision and performance.
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Ensure accurate records and documentation are maintained.
- Build positive and professional relationships with children and young people.
- Work alongside social workers, families, education providers and other professionals.
- Support Ofsted compliance and maintain high standards across the home.
- Assist with audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Deputise for the Registered Manager when required.
You will have:
- Previous experience within a residential children's home.
- Experience in a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or Deputy Manager position.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, challenging behaviour or complex needs.
- Good knowledge of safeguarding and children's residential care.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to lead by example and support a team effectively.
- A calm and resilient approach when dealing with challenging situations.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
- A good understanding of Ofsted regulations and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
