The Opportunity
Are you an experienced Children's Residential Manager ready to make your mark by opening and leading a brand-new children's home?
We are recruiting on behalf of a growing care provider seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new two-bed children's residential home in Leicester, supporting young people aged 7–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD), autism and learning disabilities.
With planning approved, the Ofsted registration application underway, and the home, policies and core team already in place, this is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of the registration process and lead the home through to opening.
You'll have the support of an established leadership team, the opportunity to shape the home's culture from day one, and the autonomy to build a high-quality service where young people can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
You'll be an experienced children's residential care professional with the leadership skills, regulatory knowledge and passion to successfully establish and manage a high-quality children's home.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the home through Ofsted registration, including the SC2 application and registration visit.
- Recruit, develop and lead a dedicated team of support workers, senior staff and a deputy manager.
- Take overall responsibility for safeguarding, care planning, admissions and placement matching.
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted requirements, legislation and the Children's Homes Quality Standards.
- Build effective relationships with local authorities, placing teams, families and external professionals.
- Establish a positive, nurturing and child-centred culture, maintaining high standards of care and practice.
You'll be an experienced children's residential care professional with the leadership skills, regulatory knowledge and passion to successfully establish and manage a high-quality children's home.
Essential requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or currently working towards it.
- Minimum of two years' experience in children's residential care, including staff supervision.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within an Ofsted-registered children's home.
- Strong working knowledge of the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and associated Quality Standards.
- Experience supporting children and young people with EBD, autism and/or learning disabilities.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, leadership and regulatory compliance.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Competitive salary of up to £52,000.
