Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with overtime available
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Rota: Three-week rolling rota, including evenings and weekends
Sleep-ins: Up to 8 sleeps per month, paid at £60 per sleep
About the Role
We are working in partnership with a specialist children's residential care provider to recruit a Team Leader to join their home in Barnet.
The home provides care and support to children and young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). The team takes a trauma-informed, child-centred approach, creating a safe and supportive environment where young people feel valued and able to develop.
As a Team Leader, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the home. You will support the Manager and Deputy Manager, provide guidance to the support team and help ensure that the young people receive consistent, high-quality care.

- Confident in guiding a team and stepping up when needed
- Committed to safeguarding and supporting the emotional and developmental needs of young people
- Calm, compassionate and confident when managing challenging behaviours
- Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, professionals and families
- Passionate about helping young people thrive and achieve their potential
- Level 3 in Health and Social Care Children and Young Adults, or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards achieving it
- An understanding of current legislation and regulatory frameworks relevant to residential childcare
- A commitment to ongoing professional development, including training, supervision and reflective practice
As a Team Leader, you will:
- Support the Manager and Deputy Manager in leading and managing the home
- Supervise and guide support workers
- Help maintain consistent, high-quality care and a nurturing environment
- Build meaningful and trusting relationships with young people
- Provide emotional and practical support
- Help young people develop confidence and independence
- Support young people to feel a strong sense of belonging
- Up to £34,500 per annum
- Quarterly performance bonus when the home is at full occupancy
- £500 retention bonus after 12 months
