About the Role We are recruiting an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager to lead a well-established residential children's service in Sheffield.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager who is passionate about achieving positive outcomes for children and young people and who can provide strong leadership across all aspects of a residential children's home.
The service supports young people aged 10–18 with complex needs, including EBD, SEMH and challenging behaviours. You will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring young people receive consistently high-quality, safe and nurturing care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Take overall responsibility for the leadership and day-to-day management of the children's home
  • Ensure the service operates in line with Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and safeguarding requirements
  • Lead, support and develop the staff team through supervision, training and performance management
  • Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding and record keeping
  • Manage budgets and resources effectively
  • Develop a positive, child-centred culture focused on achieving the best possible outcomes
  • Work closely with professionals, families and external agencies
  • Ensure the home is prepared for Ofsted inspections and maintains strong regulatory standards
About You We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager with:
  • At least 2 years' experience as a Registered Manager/Deputy Manager within children's residential care
  • Significant experience working within a residential childcare setting
  • Strong leadership and staff management experience
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of EBD, SEMH and complex/challenging behaviours
  • A genuine commitment to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and young people
  • Excellent communication, organisational and management skills
