Location: King's Lynn
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 per year + bonus
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

I am working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking children's care organisation to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for a brand-new 3-bed children's residential home in the King's Lynn area.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced children's residential care professional to join the organisation at the beginning of a new project and play a key role in setting up, registering and launching the home.

You will have the opportunity to build your own team, establish the culture and standards of the home, and create a safe, nurturing environment where children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) can develop, achieve and prepare for adulthood.

About the Role

As Registered Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and development of the home, ensuring it provides high-quality care and consistently meets regulatory and safeguarding requirements.

Working closely with the Regional Manager and Responsible Individual (RI), you will help shape the service from the outset and drive high standards of care, leadership and practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading the set-up and Ofsted registration of the new children's home.
  • Recruiting, developing and leading your own residential childcare team.
  • Providing strong, values-led leadership and creating a positive team culture.
  • Ensuring the home operates in accordance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
  • Maintaining a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Promoting positive outcomes, independence and personal development for the children in your care.
  • Working closely with the Regional Manager/RI to monitor quality, performance and continuous improvement.
  • Building strong working relationships with local authorities, social workers, education professionals and other key stakeholders.
  • Ensuring safeguarding procedures are consistently followed and embedded throughout the home.
  • Supporting the development of effective care planning, risk management and recording processes.
About You

We are looking for a confident and experienced children's residential care professional who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people.
You will ideally have:
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy Manager within a children's residential setting.
  • A strong understanding of Ofsted requirements, Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.
  • A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or be actively working towards this qualification.
  • Experience leading and developing a team within a children's residential care environment.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A confident, approachable and inspirational leadership style.
  • A genuine passion for safeguarding and improving the lives of children and young people.
Experience of setting up or registering a new children's home would be advantageous, although candidates with strong residential childcare management experience are encouraged to apply.
