We are recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 3 Bedded Therapeutic Home. This is for a well established Residential Company who are looking to expand their reach to Children.

What will you be doing:
- To monitor and maintain good practice in accordance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Children Act 1989 and all other relevant legislation.
- To ensure the home is managed in a way that supports the views, wishes and feelings of the young people accommodated in the home.
- To access the development needs of residents and to implement, review and monitor each young person’s Care Plan.
- To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, other staff within other agencies, to meet the needs of young people.
- To ensure that services are delivered according to the Statement of Purpose and Function for the home.
- To provide operational management of the staff team and to deploy appropriate staff resources in order that key tasks are fulfilled.
- To ensure that sufficient back up resources are available in emergency/out of hours situations including lead and participation in an out of hours 'On-Call' rota.
- To supervise and offer constructive feedback to staff and to be involved in the assessment and supervision of staff to aid their development, learning and understanding of their role, provide constructive criticism and contribute to appraisals. To monitor and schedule staff development and training.
- To act as a positive role model, using effective communication and appropriate language; to do with colleagues rather than instruct others to do on behalf of you whilst also delegating tasks appropriate to ability.
- To advise on policies and procedures to reflect the aims and objectives of the home; to develop systems for monitoring progress towards the achievement of such aims and objectives.
- To generate an open and supportive atmosphere within the home between staff members and between staff and residents, to enable the growth and development of both staff and residents.
- Experience supervising staff within a children’s residential setting
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager (or similar role)
- Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare — or willingness to complete within 2 years
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to provide consistent, trauma-informed care
- Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours
- Flexibility to support the rota when required
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- A good standard of physical and mental health is essential.
- A clean and smart appearance is required at all times.
- A real commitment to promoting and upholding the integrity and goodwill of the company, its employees, and the young people in our care.
- The holder of this position is expected to maintain confidentiality and observe data protection guidelines.
- Flexibility of hours as there will be occasion for contact outside of normal hours including regular participation within the on-call rota system.
