About the Role
We are working with a fantastic Children's Service who are seeking an experienced, ambitious and child-focused Registered Manager to lead our children's residential home and drive outstanding outcomes for children and young people. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, leadership, safeguarding, compliance and development of the home.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, leadership, safeguarding, compliance and development of the home.
Registered Children's Home Manager Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Provide strong and inspirational leadership to staff teams.
- Promote a positive culture that prioritises children's welfare, safety and development.
- Recruit, train, supervise and develop staff to achieve high standards of practice.
- Ensure staffing levels and deployment meet the needs of children and regulatory requirements.
- Lead team meetings, supervisions and annual appraisals.
- Develop a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
- Lead safeguarding practice within the home.
- Ensure children are protected from abuse, neglect, exploitation and harm.
- Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns and allegations.
- Maintain effective partnerships with Local Authorities, safeguarding agencies and external professionals.
- Ensure all incidents are managed, reported and reviewed appropriately.
- Promote safe care, positive behaviour support and risk management practices.
- Maintain full compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections.
- Ensure timely notifications are submitted to Ofsted and other relevant agencies.
- Monitor quality assurance systems and identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure accurate records and documentation are maintained.
- Complete and oversee Regulation 44 and Regulation 45 processes and action plans.
- Ensure children receive high-quality, trauma-informed care.
- Monitor care plans, placement plans and risk assessments.
- Promote positive outcomes in education, health, independence, emotional wellbeing and social development.
- Advocate for children and ensure their views, wishes and feelings are central to decision-making.
- Build meaningful relationships with children, families and professionals.
- Manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Ensure the home operates safely and efficiently.
- Oversee health and safety compliance.
- Manage referrals, admissions and transitions.
- Maintain occupancy levels in line with organisational objectives.
- Contribute to strategic service development and expansion plans.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards where permissible by regulation).
- Significant experience within children's residential care.
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, or equivalent senior leadership role.
- Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and Quality Standards.
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Thorough knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
- Experience managing budgets, compliance and quality assurance processes.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and professionals.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Previous experience achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted inspection outcomes.
- Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (LD).
- Experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC).
- Experience leading multiple homes or services.
- Mental Health and Positive Behaviour Support experience.
