Responsible Individual An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Responsible Individual to join an established children's residential care provider in Liverpool.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a growing organisation that is committed to delivering outstanding care and positive outcomes for children and young people. You will play a pivotal role in providing strategic oversight, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting the leadership team to deliver high-quality, child-centred services.
This role would suit an experienced Responsible Individual or an established Registered Manager who is ready to take the next step into a strategic leadership position.
The Role As the Responsible Individual, you will oversee the quality, compliance, and governance of the organisation's children's residential services, ensuring they consistently meet the requirements of Ofsted, the Children's Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
Working closely with Registered Managers and senior leaders, you will provide support, challenge, and guidance to ensure each service delivers outstanding care and continually strives for excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective oversight of children's residential services on behalf of the organisation.
- Support and mentor Registered Managers, promoting strong leadership and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all homes operate in accordance with the Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Monitor safeguarding practices and promote a culture where children's welfare is always the highest priority.
- Carry out quality assurance visits, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Support services in preparing for Ofsted inspections and implementing action plans where required.
- Monitor performance, occupancy, staffing, and service quality across the organisation.
- Build positive relationships with Ofsted, local authorities, placing authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Support recruitment, development, and retention of high-quality management teams.
- Promote therapeutic, child-centred care and best practice throughout the organisation.
- Drive continuous improvement and support the organisation's ongoing growth.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Responsible Individual or an experienced Registered Children's Home Manager ready to progress.
- Strong knowledge of the Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills.
- Strong organisational and communication abilities.
- Ability to build positive relationships with internal teams and external professionals.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Salary of up to £70,000 per annum, depending on experience.
