About the Role
We are you looking for a Deputy Nurse Manager to join this family-owned business committed to excellence, compassion and innovation. Our mission is to deliver high-quality, person-centred care tailored to each individual's unique journey. As Deputy Manager, you'll work closely alongside the Registered Manager to lead the day-to-day running of the service, covering care, catering, housekeeping, laundry and maintenance functions. You'll champion a person-centred culture, drive quality and compliance, and step up to lead the home in the manager's absence.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll make a real difference — not just to the people we care for, but to the staff team around you.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading and supporting clinical and care teams to deliver consistently high-quality, compassionate care
  • Supporting the Registered Manager with budgets, rotas, audits and quality assurance
  • Supervising, appraising and developing heads of department and frontline staff
  • Investigating concerns and complaints in line with safeguarding processes
  • Ensuring full CQC compliance and maintaining accurate, up-to-date records
  • Building strong relationships with residents, families, health professionals and external agencies
  • Deputising for the Registered Manager when required

What We're Looking For
  • Essential: Active NMC registration (RGN or RMN)
  • Essential: NVQ Level 3 or above
  • Previous experience in a similar care home or residential setting
  • Previous supervisory or management experience
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of rota planning and skill-mix management
  • Up-to-date Flu and Covid vaccinations
  • A genuine commitment to person-centred, values-based care
  • A management qualification (or willingness to work towards one) is desirable.
Hours
5 days over a 7-day period, including on-call duties as agreed. Flexibility may be required at times, with advance notice and appropriate compensation provided.
