š Childrenās Home Deputy Manager ā Chippenham š We are recruiting on behalf of a progressive, trauma-informed provider of childrenās residential care for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a 3-bed therapeutic childrenās home in Chippenham.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a key leadership role within a service built around therapeutic community values, emotional warmth, and relationship-based care. The home supports young people with learning disabilities and emotional and behavioural needs, offering a nurturing, structured, and attachment-focused environment.
š· Salary & Benefits Ā£35,000 per annum depending on experience
One contracted sleep-in per week (£63 per night), bringing total earnings to £38,276 per annum
Ofsted bonus of £250 per inspection
Full occupancy bonus from £50 per child, per month
28 days annual leave plus 3 paid wellness shifts per year

ā° Working Pattern A combination of on-shift and administrative duties
On-shift hours: 07:30 ā 21:30

š§ The Role ā Deputy Manager This is a key leadership position, supporting the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the home. You will help ensure the home operates safely, therapeutically, and in full compliance with regulations, while supporting and developing the staff team.
Supporting the Manager in the leadership, coordination, and development of high-quality therapeutic care
Ensuring the home exceeds the standards set out in the Childrenās Homes Regulations 2015
Promoting strong, empathetic relationships with young people, families, and professionals
Leading and mentoring staff through positive, reflective, and therapeutic leadership
Supporting staff wellbeing and recognising the impact of vicarious trauma
Delivering meaningful supervision and reflective practice
Leading high-quality staff inductions and ongoing therapeutic training
Overseeing accurate, reflective, and outcome-focused documentation
Writing and reviewing Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Behaviour Support Plans
Ensuring compliance with health and safety, medication, fire safety, vehicles, and premises standards
Supporting financial administration and adherence to organisational procedures
Embedding attachment-based and trauma-informed policies into everyday practice
ā Essential Skills & Qualifications Minimum one yearās experience in Residential Childrenās Social Care, ideally at Senior level
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent
Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic care, including PACE, or willingness to learn
Strong leadership skills with a nurturing, relationship-based approach
Good working knowledge of Childrenās Homes Regulations and relevant legislation
Ability to guide, challenge, and mentor staff confidently
Calm, consistent approach to managing challenging situations
Full UK driving licence
Enhanced DBS and positive references
A genuine desire to make a positive difference to young peopleās lives
