Senior Support Worker / Team Leader – Children’s Residential Care
Salary: £15.00 per hour
Location - Burton upon Trent
Additional Pay: Sleep-ins £40 per night | Overtime £2 per hour
Shifts: 2 days on / 4 days off
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Support Worker / Team Leader to join a children’s residential home. This role offers the opportunity to provide leadership, support, and guidance within a nurturing environment that promotes the wellbeing and development of children and young people.

Role Summary The Senior Support Worker / Team Leader will work closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to:
- Lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers
- Ensure high-quality care and support for children and young people
- Promote safeguarding, individual rights, and positive development
- Serve as a role model and mentor for the team
- Provide day-to-day leadership and support to care staff
- Ensure the physical, emotional, and social needs of children and young people are met
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and families
- Implement care plans and risk assessments under the guidance of the management team
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Act as a mentor and guide to junior staff
- Support the home in maintaining safe and high-quality care at all times
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (required)
- Previous experience working in a residential children’s care setting (minimum 1 year)
- Leadership and team management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, and staff
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to making a positive impact
- Flexibility to work shifts, evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and on-call as required
- Full UK driving licence
