About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Registered Manager to take overall responsibility for a brand-new 4-bed children’s home in Doncaster, supporting young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and experienced children’s residential professional to take ownership of a new service and create a safe, nurturing and high-quality environment where young people can thrive.
You will work closely with the Responsible Individual and senior leadership team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the home and ensuring the service consistently meets Ofsted and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Take overall responsibility for the safe and effective running of the home.
- Lead, motivate and develop a dedicated residential childcare team.
- Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations, Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Promote high standards of safeguarding, care planning and risk management.
- Oversee admissions, discharges and the ongoing placement of young people.
- Develop a positive, child-centred and supportive culture within the home.
- Manage rotas, staffing levels, recruitment, supervision and staff development.
- Ensure all staff complete their mandatory training and ongoing professional development.
- Monitor incidents, safeguarding concerns, complaints and other regulatory matters.
- Complete audits and quality assurance checks and drive continuous improvement.
- Build strong relationships with social workers, local authorities, families and other professionals.
- Manage the home's budget and ensure resources are used effectively.
- Prepare the service for Ofsted inspection and maintain strong regulatory standards.
- Participate in the management on-call rota when required.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing a children’s residential home.
- Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
- Experience supporting young people with EBD, trauma and challenging behaviours.
- Proven experience leading and developing residential childcare teams.
- Strong safeguarding and child protection knowledge.
- Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
- The ability to manage regulatory requirements, audits and quality assurance.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, or willingness to work towards it.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Up to £64,280 per annum, including bonus opportunities.
- £3,000 bonus for achieving an Outstanding Ofsted outcome.
- Full occupancy bonus of £600 per month.
