About the Role We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of a residential care and supported living service for adults with complex needs, including autism, mental health needs, learning disabilities, and physical or sensory disabilities.

Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will help ensure the service operates safely, effectively, and in line with regulatory standards while promoting positive outcomes for the people supported.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager with the daily running of the service
- Deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager
- Lead shifts and ensure high standards of care delivery
- Supervise and support Team Leaders and Support Workers
- Assist with staffing rotas, shift planning, and staffing levels
- Support care planning, risk assessments, medication systems, and compliance processes
- Manage incidents, safeguarding concerns, and escalation procedures appropriately
- Ensure accurate record keeping and service documentation
- Work collaboratively with families, professionals, and local authorities
- Conduct audits across medication, health & safety, finance, and compliance areas
- Support recruitment, onboarding, staff supervision, and performance management
- Promote continuous improvement and high-quality service delivery
- Monitor training compliance and mandatory training completion
Working Pattern This is a full-time 40-hour position, split between:
- 20 hours providing hands-on support on shift
- 20 hours completing leadership and administrative responsibilities
About You We are looking for an organised, resilient, and compassionate leader who thrives in a fast-paced care environment.
To be successful, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Deputy Manager, Team Leader, or Senior Support Worker within adult social care
- Experience supporting adults with complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, care planning, and risk management
- Experience managing staff teams, rotas, and operational delivery
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with audits, compliance, and quality assurance processes (desirable)
- A calm, proactive, and person-centred leadership style
- Level 3 or Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care (desirable)
