Senior Scrub/Clinic Nurse – Prestigious Plastic Surgery Clinic based in Harley Street – Up to £50,000 – Full Time
We are happy to be working with one of London’s premier private day clinic, providing the most advanced procedures and treatments spanning multiple specialist areas, specialising in Plastic, Reconstructive, Cosmetic Surgery and Dermatology.

MAIN DUTIES & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Operation/Procedure 
  • You must ensure the completion of the pre-op checklists to verify correct patient,
  • operation/procedure, allergies and any other medical alerts before any procedure takes place
  • You ensure that the patient is fully informed about the risks and benefits of the operation and that they are in a good state of health for surgery.
  • As a designated nurse, you will be legally, morally and professionally accountable for the safety of the patient. Be responsible for ensuring that all the sterile equipment, instruments, swabs, needles and consumables are correct and used in the maintenance of the sterile field within the environment, ensuring that no harm comes to the patient.
  • Coordinate the use of supplies and equipment during an operating list ensuring the equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.
  • Conduct mandatory patient checks against the supporting documentation at appropriate times during the patient’s perioperative journey.
During Operation/Procedure:
  • Act in the role of the scrub practitioner, undertaking all activities within the role in a professional and proficient manner. To include but not limited to mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre wound closure.
  • Assist the safe transfer and positioning of the patient.
  • Act in a circulating role, undertaking all activities within the role in a professional and proficient manner.
  • Be responsible for the correct handling and labelling of all specimens taken from the patient.
  • Act as a link between the Consultant and other parts of business.
  • Assist the surgeon for a variety of minor procedures along with some plastic surgeries and during aesthetic and laser treatments.
After Operation/Procedure:
  • Make sure the patients are cared for in the recovery demonstrating high levels of clinical knowledge and skills in the recovery environment. 
  • Be able to recognise complications and act accordingly using the appropriate emergency equipment and ensuring patients are fit for discharge.
  • Monitor and check consumables within the department, replenishing as required and re-ordering as appropriate.
Clinic Nurse Duties:
  • Welcome and prepare patients for consultations, minor procedures, and treatments.
  • Chaperone when requested by patient/consultant
  • Carry out patient assessments, observations, and routine checks.
  • Administer medications and injections as prescribed.
  • Assist consultants during examinations and minor surgical procedures.
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, and patient education.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and support follow-up care.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patients and families.
Requirements:
  • Registered Nurse with valid license/registration.
  • Experience in perioperative nursing (scrub role) and/or clinic/outpatient settings.
  • Strong knowledge of sterile techniques, surgical instruments, and general nursing care.
  • Accurately document patient care and intraoperative activity
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
  • Flexible and able to adapt between operating theatre and clinic environments.
