We are recruiting for a passionate and experienced Registered Manager to lead the commissioning and setup of a brand-new children’s residential home in Bradford. This is a rare opportunity to build a service from the ground up, with full autonomy to shape the culture, recruit your team, and establish high standards from day one.

You will not be stepping into an existing service — you will be instrumental in creating a high-quality, compliant, and child-focused environment before the first young person arrives.

The Role

As Registered Manager (Commissioning), you will:
  • Lead the Ofsted registration process, including SC1/SC2 applications and Fit Person interview
  • Develop and implement the Statement of Purpose, safeguarding policies, and risk assessments
  • Work closely with Directors to ensure the home meets regulatory and health & safety standards
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop your Deputy Manager and full staff team
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, safeguarding teams, and external partners

Post-Registration, you will:
  • Oversee the day-to-day management of the children’s home
  • Ensure full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
  • Lead, supervise, and develop your staff team
  • Drive high-quality, therapeutic care and positive outcomes for young people
  • Work towards achieving an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • At least 2 years’ experience in a senior role (Deputy or Registered Manager) within a children’s residential home in the last 5 years
  • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of Ofsted regulations, Children’s legislation, and safeguarding frameworks
  • A proven track record of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings
  • Experience or confidence in commissioning or setting up services (highly desirable)
  • A Full UK Driving Licence
