We are recruiting for 2 x Senior Residential Care Practitioners to join a 2-bed children’s residential home in Walsall. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Residential Care Workers or Seniors looking to step into a more responsible role within a small, supportive setting.
The Role
As a Senior Residential Care Practitioner, you will:
- Support the day-to-day running of a 2-bed children’s home
- Lead shifts and provide guidance to care staff
- Deliver high-quality care to young people, supporting emotional and behavioural needs (EBD)
- Assist with care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
- Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
- Promote a safe, structured, and nurturing environment
- Work as part of a 3-week rolling rota, including sleep-ins
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Minimum 1 year’s experience supervising or leading within a children’s residential setting
- Experience working with children and young people (EBD experience desirable)
- Qualification in one of the following (or higher):
- Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner
- Level 3 Residential Childcare
- Level 3 Health & Social Care
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- A passionate and resilient approach to supporting young people
- Salary starting from £38,683.63 per annum with increase after probation
- Generous annual leave entitlement of 360 hours
- Structured rota averaging 10 shifts per month
