We are currently working with a well-established and specialist provider of therapeutic residential care for children with complex behavioural and mental health needs. This is a unique opportunity to manage a medium to long-term placement children’s home in Buckinghamshire, supporting young people towards independent living.
About the Role:
As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management and day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high-quality care, emotional support, and positive outcomes for young people placed with the service. You will lead a dedicated team, overseeing both planned and emergency placements, delivering a therapeutic package of activities, and ensuring compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards 2015.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the residential home, providing clear direction and motivation to your team
- Ensure the delivery of a safe, nurturing environment with high standards of emotional and physical care
- Oversee therapeutic and diversion activities that promote development, wellbeing, and independence
- Manage staffing including recruitment, training, supervision, and appraisal
- Maintain effective communication and partnership working with families, placing authorities, and external agencies
- Manage budgets, occupancy levels, and operational policies with a focus on quality assurance and compliance
- Implement and monitor behaviour management and incentive programmes to encourage positive outcomes
- Ensure all health, safety, and safeguarding standards are met and staff are trained on relevant policies
- Proven experience in managing children’s residential homes or similar settings (Achieved 'Good' Ofsted rating desired)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
- Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Commitment to high-quality care and improving outcomes for vulnerable young people
- Level 5 in Leadership and management
- Ability to manage budgets and maintain operational standards effectively
- Resilience and tenacity to work with complex cases and challenging behaviours
- Competitive salary up to £55,000 DOE
