Are you a passionate and experienced Residential Childcare Worker ready to take the next step in your career? We are working in partnership with a highly respected children's residential care provider to recruit a Senior Residential Childcare Worker (SRCW) to join a dedicated team committed to improving outcomes for young people.
About the Role As a Senior Residential Childcare Worker, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the wellbeing, development, and safeguarding of the young people in the home. You will act as a role model, provide leadership to colleagues, and work closely with specialists to ensure every young person receives tailored, therapeutic care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead by example in promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Mentor and support team members in behaviour management strategies.
  • Collaborate with therapists and the Wellbeing Team to develop behaviour support and risk management plans.
  • Respond effectively to safeguarding concerns and ensure young people feel safe and supported.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records and reports in line with company policy and regulatory standards.
  • Support daily routines, life skills development, and social integration activities.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.
Requirements
  • Minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a residential childcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, Positive Behaviour Support, and relevant legislation (Children’s Act, Ofsted, Prevent Duty, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Commitment to the wellbeing and progress of children and young people.

    Full UK driving license required
