Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home 📍 Derby
💷 Salary starting from £33,300.80 per annum (£16.01 per hour)
🕒 Full-time | 40 hours per week
🏠 1-bed Children’s Home Floating Support Across Derby Homes
We are seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to work alongside the Registered Manager in a 1-bed children’s residential home in Derby. This is a key leadership role with additional responsibility as a floating Deputy, supporting other homes in the area during management annual leave and sickness.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and capable leader with a strong background in children’s residential care who enjoys variety, responsibility, and supporting services to maintain high standards.
The Role As Deputy Manager, you will:

• Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home
• Provide leadership and supervision to the staff team
• Step in to support other local homes as part of a floating management role
• Ensure high-quality, child-centred care at all times
• Support safeguarding, care planning, risk management, and compliance
• Participate in the management on-call rota
• Attend the home in person when required to support emergencies that cannot be resolved remotely

On-Call Requirements

• 1 in 5 weeks
• Monday–Friday: 5:00pm – 9:00am
• Weekends: 24-hour cover
• May require attendance at the home depending on the situation

About You You will need:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience managing a team in children’s residential care
• Experience working directly with children (essential)
• One of the following qualifications (or higher):
  
  • Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• A full UK driving licence (essential)
