An established company is opening a new children’s home and is recruiting a Children’s Home Registered Manager to lead the service, shape the Statement of Purpose, and ensure high-quality care for children and young people. 📌 Essential Requirements
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (Children & Young People) or willingness to complete
  • Strong senior-level experience in a children’s home
  • Excellent knowledge of:
    • Safeguarding
    • Children Act 1989
    • Children’s Homes Regulations 2015
    • Care Standards 2000
    • Policies & procedures
  • Proven leadership and staff-management skills
  • Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
  • Ability to manage budgets, produce reports, and organise rotas
  • Full driving licence
  • On-call availability & occasional overnight cover
📌 Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a children’s home in line with regulations and the Statement of Purpose
  • Safeguard children and promote their rights and welfare
  • Ensure high-quality, therapeutic, and clinically informed care
  • Oversee casework, administration, and performance monitoring
  • Assess individual needs and create development/support plans
  • Recruit, induct, supervise, and appraise staff
  • Chair meetings, reviews, and multi-agency discussions
  • Promote professional behaviour and a positive team culture
  • Liaise with external agencies, commissioners, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Maintain compliance with financial, administrative, and medication procedures
  • Create staff rotas and ensure safe staffing at all times
📌 Experience Required
  • Min. 1 year management experience
  • Min. 2 years children’s residential experience
  • NVQ Level 5 or working towards (preferred)
  • NVQ 3/4 in Health & Social Care (desirable)
  • Driving licence (required)
