We are seeking a dedicated Residential Care Practitioner to join our team in a 2-bed children’s residential home in Walsall. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people in a therapeutic, safe, and nurturing environment.
The Role As a Residential Care Practitioner, you will:

• Deliver high-quality, child-centred care within a residential setting
• Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments, and social activities
• Promote emotional wellbeing, stability, and positive outcomes
• Work closely with senior staff to implement care plans and behaviour support strategies
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and regulatory compliance

Shift Pattern

• 56.5 hours per week, inclusive of sleep-ins
• Shifts: 07:30 – 22:30, plus sleep-in and 08:00 – 08:30 handover the following day
• 3-week rolling rota, working alongside a Senior colleague
• Average of 10 shifts per month (approximately 244.5 hours per month)

About You You will need:

• Minimum 1 year’s experience in children’s residential care or youth work
• Relevant qualification in Residential Childcare (as outlined in initial criteria)
• A caring, resilient, and professional approach
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• Ability to build strong, positive relationships with young people
