Ofsted Registered Children's Home Manager - Up to £60,000 - North London Area - Full-Time - On-Site - Monday to Friday 


About the Role
As a Registered Children’s Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the care and welfare of children across a range of settings, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and development remain the highest priority.
You will be joining a well-established children’s organisation dedicated to providing looked-after young people with a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment. The organisation is committed to promoting empowerment, independence, and informed choice, while developing essential life skills and supporting young people in their transition along the care pathway towards fully independent living.

Person Specification:
  • You should have experience of managing a children's home
  • You should hold a level 5 diploma in children and young peoples residential care
  • You should have experience of working with children and young people
  • You should be dedicated to providing outstanding care
  • You should be suitable to work with Children. A DBS Certificate is a requirement of the role.
About the Company 
This Children's Home have in excess of 60 homes across London, Peterborough, Northampton and Kent plus an independent specialist school for children aged 8-19 with autism and other learning difficulties. They deliver high quality care to support children and young people with overcoming obstacles, and enabling them to celebrate achievements and develop independent skills. Their qualified and dedicated team will work on nurturing and building the self-esteem of every individual, ensuring they feel safe and supported.


Registered Children’s Home Manager Duties and Responsibilities
  • To be responsible for the day-to-day operation/management of an Ofsted regulated residential provision.
  • To ensure the highest standards of emotional, social and physical care, promoting best outcomes for young people through research, development and partnership.
  • To ensure strategic overview and vision of the organization are embedded in policies, procedures, and management strategies at the home
  • To deliver highly motivated leadership and development to the team for which you are responsible.
  • Ensure that training is relevant, robust, and effective and that the training program is dynamic, adaptive to the needs of current residents.
  • To ensure that the staff team adhere to training requirements and timescales
  • To develop high standards of communication with social work teams, the Virtual School, medical professionals and other key partners.
  • To ensure the provision maximize resources within a planned timescale and ensure all services are delivered in a way which maximizes the participation of young people, respects their rights and is responsive to their wishes and views
  • To take overall responsibility for all regulatory requirements associated with Ofsted registration and the home’s Statement of Purpose
  • To ensure all safeguarding risks are acted upon immediately and the relevant action taken to mitigate the risk
  • Always promote and ensure equality in practice
  • Undertake and participate in any required training programmes
  • Develop and maintain effective working partnerships with external providers as an integral part of the care pathway for children
  • To be able to challenge, in a sensitive way, engender collaboration for educational achievement and attainment, and foster a mutual responsibility for outcomes for all young people.
  • Ensuring that the Educational needs of children in residence are assessed and provided for, liaising with educational professionals producing Personal Education Plans

Schedule:

Experience:
  • Residential Childcare: 2 years (required)
  • Supervising: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
  • Driving Licence (preferred)
  • Level 5 in Leadership and Management for CYPS (preferred)
  • Level 3 in Residential Childcare (required)
