Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 (dependent on experience)
Location: Watford, Hertfordshire
Employment: Full-time, Permanent

We are recruiting on behalf of an established and reputable children’s residential care provider, currently operating five successful EBD homes. The company is now expanding into the Watford area with the opening of a brand-new 1-bed children’s home and is seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead this exciting new service.

About the Role As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the opening, registration, and day-to-day running of the new home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance with Ofsted regulations. You will play a vital role in creating a nurturing, safe, and structured environment where young people can thrive emotionally, socially, and educationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the registration process with Ofsted and ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee daily operations, staff management, and care delivery in line with company policies and Ofsted standards.
  • Provide strong, motivational leadership and ensure a culture of high expectations and positive outcomes for young people.
  • Develop and implement individualised care plans that promote stability, growth, and independence.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and recruitment to support the effective running of the home.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with external agencies, professionals, and families.
Requirements
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within a children’s residential home.
  • Proven track record of achieving at least two consecutive “Good” Ofsted ratings (or better).
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, safeguarding, and children’s legislation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
