Deputy Children’s Home Manager – Birmingham Location: Birmingham (3-Bed EBD Home)
Salary: £36,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, permanent

About the Opportunity We are delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established and highly respected residential childcare provider who are looking for a passionate and motivated Deputy Manager to join their welcoming and supportive team in the Birmingham area.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Childcare Worker or existing Deputy Manager looking to progress within a stable, caring, and child-focused environment. You’ll be joining a dedicated 3-bed EBD home that provides therapeutic care and support to children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home and deputise in their absence.
  • Lead and motivate a team to deliver outstanding care and positive outcomes for young people.
  • Ensure all care is delivered in line with Ofsted regulations, safeguarding standards, and company policies.
  • Oversee care planning, placement plans, risk assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Promote a nurturing, therapeutic environment where young people feel safe, valued, and supported.
  • Supervise and develop staff through regular supervision, appraisals, and training.
  • Build effective relationships with young people, families, and external professionals.
  • Take part in the on-call rota and support with shift planning and resource management.
Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare– essential.
  • At least 2 years’ supervisory or leadership experience within a residential children’s home setting.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and Ofsted requirements.
  • A passion for working with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
