Deputy Manager – Children’s Residential Home | £33,665–£34,881 sleep-ins / Herfordshire
Role Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of an EBD children’s home, ensuring consistent, high-quality care.
- Lead, mentor, and supervise staff, modelling therapeutic and trauma-informed practice.
- Oversee rotas, staffing, budgets, and daily operational tasks, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards.
- Step up confidently in the Manager’s absence, handling audits, incidents, and key decisions.
- Maintain accurate documentation including care plans, risk assessments, and regulatory records.
- Work collaboratively with social workers, families, and external agencies to achieve strong outcomes for young people.
Role Requirements
- Minimum 18 months’ experience as a Senior, Deputy, or Team Leader in a children’s EBD home.
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (minimum essential).
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted regulations, and Children’s Homes Standards.
- Experience managing rotas, staffing, and day-to-day home operations.
- Confident leader with a therapeutic mindset and ability to step into management responsibilities.
- Full UK driving licence.
