About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced and committed Deputy Children’s Home Manager to support the leadership and day-to-day running of a residential children’s home in Berkshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Residential Support Worker or existing Deputy Manager looking to progress within a supportive and child-focused environment.
You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home provides high-quality care, strong safeguarding practices, and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Registered Manager in the overall management of the home
- Lead shifts and provide hands-on support to the staff team
- Ensure safeguarding procedures and care standards are consistently met
- Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, and placement stability
- Supervise, mentor, and develop staff members
- Assist with rota management, audits, and compliance
- Build positive relationships with young people, families, and external professionals
- Participate in sleep-ins and on-call duties as required
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in residential childcare
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – essential
- Full UK driving licence – essential
- Experience supporting young people with EBD and/or complex needs
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and children’s home regulations
- Ability to lead shifts and support team development
- Salary up to £40,000 per annum (inclusive of sleep-ins)
