Team Leader - Residential Support Worker – Stockport Area – Up to £34,200 (Inclusive of Bonus) - Fantastic Well Established Children's Home

About the Role

We are excited to be working with a fantastic and well Established Children’s Home who is looking to bring on an experienced Team Leader Children’s Support Worker to help lead a stable, supportive home for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a proven track record in residential childcare who’s ready to step into a key leadership role.
 
Team Leader Children’s Support Worker Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Understand and deliver the young person’s Care Plan daily.
  • Meet all basic physical needs of the young person daily.
  • Keep accurate, up-to-date records for young people in line with home systems.
  • Carry out checks and maintain Health & Safety records as directed by line manager.
  • Contribute, update, and review monthly all relevant plans (risk assessment, behaviour plan, placement plan) to ensure significant behaviours are recorded.
  • Develop skills, knowledge, and experience as agreed with line manager to improve practice and set professional goals.
  • Conduct supervision meetings as directed by Home and Deputy Manager.
  • Contribute to the positive culture of the home by demonstrating core values.
  • Use initiative to ensure all working hours are used effectively.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Work with internal and external services and professionals to ensure continuity of care for young people.
  • Ensure all domestic duties are completed daily and signed off to standard.
  • Care for the home’s fabric, equipment, and grounds to create a homely environment.
  • Actively contribute to a therapeutic, homely environment, considering young people’s wishes and preferences.
  • Be accountable for petty cash, ensuring financial systems and processes are followed.
  • Be accountable for all records, systems, and operating procedures as set by line manager.
  • Be involved in LAC and PEP reviews and produce reports for LAC reviews.
  • Produce weekly planners for young people.
  • Prepare weekly petty cash requests.
  • Update risk assessments, placement plans, and behaviour support plans.
 
Regulatory and Administrative:
  • Ensure all regulatory standards are followed and records stored centrally
  • To attend internal and external professionals’ meetings as required.
  • To adhere to the whistle blowing policy to ensure that poor practice, negligence, and dishonesty is raised appropriately.
  • To ensure own and others understanding and compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Equality and Diversity Act.
  • To be accountable for the homes petty cash and ensure financial systems and processes are followed correctly.
  • Ensure regulatory training is completed and refreshed
