💷 Salary: £29,000 – £32,500 (DOE)

About Us:

We’re a proudly independent veterinary practice that has been at the heart of the community for over 50 years. With a loyal client base, a growing caseload, and a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care, we’ve built a busy, friendly environment where our people genuinely enjoy coming to work.

Our team of 5 supportive nurses works across small animals, farm, and equine – no two days are the same! We’re also a training practice, so you’ll have opportunities to support student development as well as build your own skills.
This role is ideal for an all-rounder RVN who enjoys variety and wants to feel valued in a close-knit, family-feel team rather than a corporate machine.

What the Role Looks Like:

As part of our nursing team, you’ll take on a broad and fulfilling mix of responsibilities, including:
  • Surgical Nursing – Assisting in procedures, preparing theatre, and monitoring anaesthesia.
  • Inpatient & Outpatient Care – Administering treatments, supporting recovery, and ensuring the highest welfare standards.
  • Client Care & Education – Building trusted relationships and giving advice that makes a difference.
  • Mentoring & Training – Supporting student nurses and sharing your knowledge.
On-Call – With a Great Work-Life Balance We know on-call can be daunting, so here’s the reality of how it works with us:
  • You’ll only work Saturday morning in the practice during your on-call weekend.
  • After that, you’re at home for the rest of the weekend – simply available if needed.
  • Callouts are rare, and usually only for operations or urgent treatments such as catheters or drips.
  • No inpatient care is required overnight.
  • To balance things out, you’ll enjoy Friday afternoon off the following week.
This rota (1:5–1:6) means you’ll keep your emergency skills sharp without it taking over your life.

What We Offer You:

Joining us means being part of a team that genuinely values each other. Here’s what you can expect:

✔️ Competitive salary (£29k–£32.5k DOE)
✔️ Pension scheme
✔️ Annual leave allowance
✔️ Health plan/medical insurance
✔️ Independent, non-corporate culture
✔️ Opportunities for professional growth & CPD in a training practice
✔️ A supportive, close-knit team environment where your input is valued

This is more than just a nursing role – it’s a chance to be part of a practice that feels like home, where your skills are respected, and where you’ll enjoy a true balance between professional fulfilment and personal wellbeing.
