Optometrist Key Responsibilities
- Perform pre- and post-operative examinations for patients.
- Conduct full pre-operative consultations for procedures such as laser surgery, cataracts, RLE, and ICLs.
- Diagnose vision defects, injuries, or eye diseases through detailed examinations.
- Manage and monitor eye conditions independently or in collaboration with other professionals.
- Handle complex patient case management effectively.
- Provide diagnostic tests including Biometry, OCT, Pentacam, ECC, Peramis, Visual Fields, and IOP checks.
- Offer advice and reassurance on treatment options based on clinical findings.
- Address patient enquiries with excellent customer service and refer to consultant surgeons when necessary.
- Maintain consulting and treatment rooms, ensuring they are tidy, stocked, and prepared for use.
- Participate in promoting the company’s shared care scheme to community optometrists.
- Support and run events or training sessions for optometrists, GPs, and staff members.
- Assist in data collection and research to monitor clinical outcomes.
- Carry out lens calculations for surgery patients.
- GOC Registered.
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and professional judgement.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate about high-quality patient care.
- Confident, capable, and eager to develop clinically.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and great customer care.
- Professional attitude, appearance, and team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently while aligning with the clinics vision and mission.
- Independent prescriber or willingness to complete the qualification.
- Work alongside world-class eye surgeons in a cutting-edge clinical environment.
- Contribute to innovative research and data collection in eye care.
- Engage in professional development opportunities and collaborative care.
- Full-time (Monday–Saturday, 5 days per week)
- Rotating hours: 8am–5pm, 9am–6pm, or 10am–7pm depending on clinic needs
- Covering all three clinics
- Starting salary from £65,000 (depending on experience)
